2 Aims: Understand the background to the British in India and partition Judge how happy and sad each group would be to actions and decisions leading up to partition Judge who would be most/ least happy with the decisions made and why

3 In your groups, using the cards, work out what you think happened in the years given on each card. Use the keywords on the card to help you.

4 There were four main groups involved in the partition process: British Hindus Muslims Sikhs Depending on which group you have been given, create a fortune line showing how happy or sad your given group would be to the different actions/ decisions on the cards. Be ready to justify your opinion!

5 Sad Happy 18851947 Who do you think was the most/ least satisfied with the outcome? Explain your answer.
