8 There is ample scientific evidence that our relationship with ourselves, others and the planet is the main variable influencing all the aspects of our lives. 9 Education is one mayor building block of the social construction of reality. In the Antropocene Era, humanity needs to face the rising problems that ignorance, alienation and mechanistic reductionist education have contribute to create World Academy of Art and Science World University Consortium

10 Our social construction of professional competence is largely obsolete since various professions are still construed by using the outmoded mechanistic reductionist divisions of the traditional fields of expertise This situation reflects the limited knowledge of the world we had when the modern professional and scientific disciplines first emerged and continue to be stifled by the lines of jurisdiction in these traditional divisions of expert labor. 13 Education to become more effective needs to shift: from subject centered to human-centered learning from passive to active learning from memorization or understanding to thinking and original thinking from information or mental understanding to development of the whole person from academic theoretical to life-centered knowledge from fragmented knowledge to integrated knowledge shift from creating standardized products to fostering the development of resilience, individuality and creativity Education should be explicitly value-based and related to the comprehensive agenda of fundamental human rights World Academy of Art and Science World University Consortium

14 We need to bring together not only top universities, but all the stakeholders for the creation of a process that will generate effective understanding and offer effective solutions to the problems we face society. We need to develop a new paradigm in education, in order to develop updated and effective research, education and knowledge and best practices. This is fundamental for the creation and maintenance of shared societies and values!! World Academy of Art and Science World University Consortium

15 Among the initiatives that work for a more effective education is the World University Consortium (WUC) that will : Facilitate the process of collaboration among all the stakeholders in order to create a new paradigm of effective education enabling people to effectively cope with the world’ present & future challenges Promote the formulation of effective answers to the current crisis of education and society Develop a passport of competencies : by which degrees and competencies will be validated around the world Make available to all the knowledge and best practices that the world presently needs This process is also a product! 16 To involve all the stakeholders in promoting awareness of the pressing issues we need to face. To create education processes that are people-centered & person centered, grounded on developing human potentialities, based on deep respect, empathic understanding for ourselves, others and all the planet lifeforms. Education that trains people to see themselves and everything else as part od the web of life. By understanding the importance of mutual relationships at every level, we can promote effectively human and natural capital development, resilience and sustainable development World Academy of Art and Science World University Consortium

17 Bosnia- Herzegovina has a chance to became a leader, a role model by learning from its tragic recent experiences and creating effective and functional People- centered and person –centered social learning process That will foster virtuous processes badly needed not only in BiH but by every nation and community around the world World Academy of Art and Science World University Consortium
