What are genetic disorders? Genetic disorders are problems that happen in the DNA. A part of the DNA was not reproduce correctly. This problem causes a part of an organism to malfunction. The malfunction can have treatments but they do not work always or they do not have a treatment. Any little change that is made in the DNA usually has a huge effect on a organism for example the function of the heart or other parts of the body.

Dextrocardia When the heart is not in the correct position instead of being on the left it is on the right Usually happens to toddlers Identified when are a little older
4
Symptoms May not have symptom when the heart is functioning well. Bluish skin Hard to breath Difficult to gain weight and grow Fatigue Pale skin Many sinus or lung infections
5
How it is inherited? Family carry that gene ( cannot prevent it) It is recessive and not that common
6
Interesting Facts “heart on the right” literal definition The heart is on the right than on the left Children with heart defects have to take antibiotics before any surgery Diabetes, illegal drugs ( risk )
7
Treatment No treatment is necessary if heart is function correctly. If not the treatment depends on the problems that the kid has Usually take medicine to make the infant grow (easier to do surgery) Cannot really prevent it
