ACOSH is (since the 60s) an advisory board comprised of staff and management representatives The Chair of ACOSH is nominated by the Director General and reports directly to the DG on all matters related to workplace safety and health of staff The SUC represents staff, and INTER, HRD and the Medical Adviser participate on behalf of management

ACOSH advises the Director General on a broad range of issues such as: Security and safety in the field Health maintenance issues such as implementation of programmes to promote healthy lifestyles Adapting the workplace to meet the needs of the disabled Other improvements to the ILO physical plant related to OSH
