4 Program Planning and IYOS With your Scouts and Unit Leaders establish an annual Unit Program Plan and Budget. (Ideal Year Of Scouting) Explain to your families how the entire program year can be funded with the Popcorn Fundraiser. Hand out your Family Fact Sheet. This would tell your families how and when your unit is selling and give them program due dates. 4

Communicate per Scout sales goal. -Communication to your families is IMPERATIVE to your unit reaching it’s goals. -Parents are interested in three things; What’s in it for my boy, what’s in it for our Unit, how do we become more successful. Answer these questions and you will have a captive audience. -Work together on the per Scout goals then have the Scouts write those goals on their sales sheets. Be sure everyone understand the importance of participation in the sale. -Be clear and concise with your expectations. 7

9 Sales Methods Explain the sales methods your unit will use. Show ‘n’ Sell, Show ‘n’ Deliver, Take Order, Online Sales, Blitz Days Let your families know what the expectation is for each Scout in time commitment and/or dollars sold. 9

11 Prizes Display prizes if possible. If not, create a poster with pictures of all of the possibilities. Be sure to include the selling levels. Include the fill a sheet (everyone gets a prize) and Fill a sheet drawings With the GRAND PRIZE of a Disney Vacation. More prizes at higher levels – the more you sell, the more you can earn. 11

13 Role Play 4.Conduct successful Role Play -Have the Scouts and Adults do role play activities to show the RIGHT way to sell popcorn and the WRONG way. -Discuss expected behaviors while selling popcorn. 13
