6 Apex Mine Reclamation In 2002, Teck inventoried dangerous mine features including stopes, adits and shafts. In 2003 and 2008, bat gates and grates, foam closures, and fences were installed to address public safety concerns. Increasing vandalism/trespassing by mineral collectors prompted Teck to begin planning for further reclamation. In 2011, Teck initiated a reclamation program that included: Demolishing and removing site equipment and infrastructure Re-grading and contouring the former mine pad, dump, and roads Annual inspections observed areas of poor re-vegetation; initiated additional seeding in 2014.
