1. Problem Statement
6
Sustainability Relationship between Land Use & Transportation Can give Parameter or Indicator Transportation How to connect Is a Big issue these days Is a major sector
7
2. Objective
8
1. Objective 1) Study the relationship between land-use and transportation. 2) Develop a model of interaction between land-use and transport. 3) Application of the model to evaluate Sustainability of different transportation scenarios. The Development of Land-use and Transportation Integrated Model for Urban Sustainability Evaluation

3. Land Use and Transportation (FRAMEWORK) The Development of Land-use and Transportation Integrated Model for Urban Sustainability Evaluation
13
Land Use Model (LUM) Residential Location Choice Model (RLCM) The number of household in each zone is calculated as Non-mandatory opportunity Location Choice Model (NmoLCM) Shopping and leisure activity in each zone is obtained as The Development of Land-use and Transportation Integrated Model for Urban Sustainability Evaluation

Land Use Model (LUM) Land price Model The Development of Land-use and Transportation Integrated Model for Urban Sustainability Evaluation
15
Travel Demand Model (TDM) Trip generation model (Trip : A journey from Origin to Destination.) - Total number of trips generated in each zone. Trip distribution model - How trips are distributed between different zones. Mode Choice - Which mode is used (Public transportation or car ) Traffic Assignment - Which Route is used (Shortest path Travel time) The Development of Land-use and Transportation Integrated Model for Urban Sustainability Evaluation

Four different scenarios are tested with the developed Land Use and Transportation Integrated Model. Do nothing Construction of new subway. Increasing the capacity of road network by 30% Increasing the speed of the transit network by 30% Scenario Analysis The Development of Land-use and Transportation Integrated Model for Urban Sustainability Evaluation
23
Variables used for sustainability Evaluation Do Nothing New Subway Road Capacity >30% Transit Speed > 30% 1. Total System Travel time IIIIVIII 2. Total land price/capacity IVIIIIII 3. Total land price IVIIIIII 4.Total non-man activities/household IIIIIIVI 5. Mandatory accessibility IVIIIIII 6. Non-mandatory accessibility IIIIIIVI 7. Overall accessibility IVIIIIII Result and Analysis The Development of Land-use and Transportation Integrated Model for Urban Sustainability Evaluation

7. Conclusion & Recommendations
25
Conclusion 1) The detail of the different Land Use and Transportation Model is studied. 2) A simple Land Use and Transportation Integrated model is developed using simple variables. 3) Later, the developed model is used in evaluating different transportation scenario. The Development of Land-use and Transportation Integrated Model for Urban Sustainability Evaluation
26
Recommendation 1) Next Step in this study is to test this model with real data. 2) Incorporation of more variables into the model. 3) Accessibility obtained from model can be used to quantify all three aspects of sustainability simultaneously.
