2 Jobcentre Plus redundancy support Redundancy Process – Rapid Response Service Employer raises HR1 & sends to Department of Business Innovation & Skills – BIS (if 20 or more) Jobcentreplus receives notification of all HR1’s prompting a telephone call to the employer’s named contact (within 48 hours) Details of redundancy including numbers, skills sets, dates of those affected is discussed. Jobcentreplus & employer agree level of support required dependant on status of redundancy, numbers affected, timing & impact on local labour market. Less than 20 – relies on “local intelligence”, media or employer notification but Rapid Response can still apply (flexibility).

3 . Jobcentre Plus redundancy support Rapid Response Service Support can include a tailored combination of the following: Issue of self help booklets including Job Kits & other material. Awareness presentations from Jobcentreplus and partner organisations. 1:2:1 careers advice & guidance including skills transfer analysis. CV building, jobsearch support & interview techniques (1:2:1 or group sessions). Identification of job focussed training needs or certification linked to the labour market. Access to Business organisations, HMRC, CFEB, professional/managerial support, Welfare Rights & Benefits Advice. Presentations to Unions or Union Learning Reps. Links to local recruiting employers & Recruitment Agencies.

Jobcentre Plus redundancy support Rapid Response Service Some final thoughts :- Discussions and information from employers is confidential (through a single point of contact within Jobcentreplus). Support is delivered on the employer premises or hire of rooms. Support is fully funded and is at no additional cost to the employer. If the organisation is National, agreements can be reached Nationally & cascaded to Jobcentreplus contacts. Support can be requested by Administrators, employees or Unions. Early intervention is best if possible !
