Memory Verse: Revelation 3:18 “ 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.” BIBLE PASSAGE: Isaiah 9:6 INTRODUCTION: A counsellor is a person who gives guidance or advice especially on personal problems. It was by a counsellor that this world was ruined. Satan who masked himself as a serpent counseled Eve with great craftiness to disobey God – (Genesis 3:1-6) but Jesus came to this world to lead us out of mental darkness and satanic deception into His everlasting light. Little wonder His name is Counsellor - (Isaiah 9:6)

Outline 1: JESUS THE COUNSELLOR Jesus came to this world to restore us back to God through His counsels. He gave us counsel on virtually every aspect of life. In (Matthew 18:21-22), He gave counsel about forgiveness. In (Matthew 19:3-9), He also counselled on divorce. Also in (Luke 10:38-42), Jesus advised Martha about her disposition to the word of God and in (John 8:3-11), He counselled the woman caught in adultery on what to do to gain eternal life. Jesus is the best counsellor. He has an advice or a counsel for you concerning every aspect of your life.

Outline 2: HIS COUNSELS ARE PERFECT The counsels of the Lord are perfect because they correlate with His perfect word - (Psalm 33:11, Proverbs 19:21). There are different types of counsels from different sources but the counsel of the Lord remains the best. Consider the foolish counsel of Job’s wife in (Job 2:9), the evil counsel of the spies in (Numbers 13:30-32), the destructive counsel of Ahithophel in (2 Samuel 16:20-22), but the counsel of the Lord remains safe and sure - (Proverbs 24:6, Revelations 3:18)
