The background of my education: I graduated from the English Education department in Kunming Normal College in 1997. In 1999, I went to Yunnan Normal University. I have taken correspondence course in the English Department for three years. In 2002,I got Bachelor degree.

My understanding to English education: 1. To help students set up the basic of learning English. 2. To help students master the methods of learning English, so that they can learn more by themselves. 3. To coach students in listening, speaking, reading and writing in class, to build up their abilities. 4. To be honest, in our daily teaching, we have to spend too much time teaching students how to do exercise and how to get good grades in exams.
4
What I am confused in teaching: 1. There is no language environment for Chinese students to practice English. The hardly have any opportunities to speak English after class. 2. There is too much knowledge for students to learn. Students feel under much pressure. 3. What they learn is hard for students, they feel afraid to learn English. 4. Students have to recite too many vocabularies, phrases, sentences and passages, or they can’t get good grades in English. Many students don’t work had, they even give up studying English. 5. It’s hard to develop many students’ reading ability within limited teaching time. 6. Most students get good grades in English not because they are interested in English, but because they are forced to learn by their teachers and parents.
5
What I am satisfied with myself: 1. I think I am a little good at speaking and listening in English.. 2. I am familiar to what I teach.
6
How to promote myself? 1. Try to arrange more time in reading English magazines and newspapers, listening to English radios or tapes, watching English videos. 2. Learn from other experienced teachers in teaching. 3. If I had opportunities to practice my English, I would be glad to do it. 4. Learn on the Internet. 5. Try to do some research in teaching with my collegues.
7
What I am interested in in American education? 1. How do you evaluate the students in America? Do students’ grades come first? 2. How do you evaluate a teacher? 3. In America class, how to develop students’ interest in learning? 4. How do you develop students’ reading ability in everyday teaching.
