7. Empress Wu Zetian (624 - 705) She was the only female monarch ( 君主 ) of China. She lived in Tang Dynasty. She ruled the empire ( 帝国 ) for over half a century.

13. Joan of Arc (1412-1431) She was born in a village in France She dressed as a man and went to fight for the France and to drive the English out of France She was caught and put to death by the English.

14. Song Qingling (1893-1981 ) She was one of the top leaders on modern Chinese History. She concerned herself withconcerned Welfare projects, leading China Welfare Institute especially for woman and children. She is Dr Sun Yat-sen’s wife.

15. Lin Qiaozhi (1901--1983) A doctor who became a specialist in women’s illnesses. She devoted all her lifedevoted to medical work for Chinese women and children.

16. Jane Goodall (1934-- ),Britain She went to Africa and studied chimps. Her research showed the connections between chimps and human beings.
