4. What is the Proficiency Award Program about? (HO1) n Proficiency: Demonstrated competence in a specific area n Proficiency Award: A recognition of excellence in the area of occupational or scientific proficiency n Incentive: FFA provides the awards to motivate the student through recognition of accomplishment

5. Eligibility n Current, active FFA member n Applicant may have been out of high school no more than one year n If graduated, applicant must have completed 3 or more years of ag ed, or all the ag at the last school attended n Have maintained records adequate to substantiate the application

6. Types of Proficiency Awards n Entrepreneurship –Personal Ownership –Complete records –Completed at home, at school, or in community n Placement –Normally paid employment –Complete records –Agricultural work setting
