Partnership Opportunities EventName

TED is a global foundation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then, its scope has become ever broader. With its two annual conferences, video website TED.com, initiatives and community projects, TED is now a platform and a global movement focused on meaningful change through the power of ideas. What is TED ? EventName

What is TEDx? EventName

TEDx was created in the spirit of TED's mission, Ideas Worth Spreading. The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. At TEDx events, a screening of TEDTalks videos -- or a combination of live presenters and TEDTalks videos -- spark deep conversation and connections. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis. What is TEDx? EventName

What is TEDx? TEDx Organizers are not hosting events for political reasons, monetary reward or personal gain. They are doing so because they truly believe in the power of ideas to change the world. TEDx events are open source, local and community-driven events that inspire innovation, thought leadership and visionary insight. A TEDx license is free to obtain. EventName

How does it work? EventName

At the center of the TED organization is the TEDTalk -- In 18 minutes or less, TED speakers share their Idea Worth Spreading. It can be an idea to change the world, an idea to educate, or to inspire. TEDx speakers share talks in this same spirit. These talks are then recorded, edited and uploaded to the TEDx website. There are no panels, breakout sessions or multiple tracks at TEDx events. How does it work? EventName

Why become a TEDx Partner? EventName

As a TEDx Partner, you will have the opportunity to engage in an authentic dialogue with an elusive yet valuable audience: passionate, open-minded people in your community. Why become a TEDx Partner? EventName

TED encourages [name of partner] to join in a collaborative relationship with the TEDx[insert name of your event] community by supporting our TEDx[insert name of your event] event. Why become a TEDx Partner? EventName

As a TEDx Partner in support of TEDx[name of your event], you will have an opportunity to test your ideas for the future, and be challenged to positively impact your community and the planet in new ways. Why become a TEDx Partner? EventName

By supporting us, you join the global TEDx community, and benefit from TEDx[name of your event]'s individually tailored, local flavor. Becoming a TEDx[name of event] Partner means you share in our vision of spreading ideas that are intended to change the world for the better. Why become a TEDx Partner? EventName

An open source, local, community event? What does that mean to you as a Partner? EventName

TEDx events are individually organized, and this event will more than likely be one of several TEDx events happening in your region. Each TEDx event has their own name and organizational team, unrelated to each other. TED does encourage local TEDx organizers to meet, communicate, collaborate and share best regional practices. All TEDx events follow guidelines for content and formatting established by TED. For more sponsor information see: http://www.ted.com/pages/for_tedx_sponsors http://www.ted.com/pages/for_tedx_sponsors An open source, local, community event? EventName

What’s unique about supporting a TEDx event? EventName

A TEDx license is provided free by TED to the TEDx event Organizer. We ask that TEDx events do not charge more than 100 USD per ticket. In order for TEDx Organizers to host a quality event, they need your support. What’s unique about supporting a TEDx event? EventName

In order to host a TEDx event with more than 100 attendees, the Primary Licensee needs to have attended an official TED conference. This creates a level of quality control for larger TEDx events. What’s unique about supporting a TEDx event? EventName

TED requests that each Organizer submit a list of potential Partners prior to reaching out, to avoid confusion with other TEDx and TED partnerships. This is an evolving process, and TED is always looking for your thoughts. (If you have suggestions or feedback for TED please email tedx@ted.com) What’s unique about supporting a TEDx event? EventName

When and wherever possible, we prefer Partners pay vendors directly. After the TEDx event, TED asks the Organizer to submit a summary of their partnerships, along with full documentation of their event. What’s unique about supporting a TEDx event? EventName

No partner can speak from the main stage of a TEDx event. Possibly the biggest faux pas of any TEDx event organizer is allowing their Partners to pitch from stage, or in any way influence editorial programming decisions. TED has the right to revoke their license should this happen. TEDx events and their Partners may not use social media to promote their partnership. What’s unique about supporting a TEDx event? EventName

From time to time, Partners DO demo a new product at TED, and can at a TEDx event only if the product is truly innovative, and is being seen by the world for the first time. TED asks these presenters to not mention a company on stage, but to focus on the new innovation being presented. What’s unique about supporting a TEDx event? EventName

At TEDx events, TED does encourage interactive concepts like innovation alleys -- areas outside of the main stage that show cool new ideas and products. Please consider supporting an idea like this at your local TEDx event if you have a new and innovative product you are launching, and would like to showcase it. What’s unique about supporting a TEDx event? EventName

Which TEDx event(s) should you support? EventName

Which TEDx event(s) should you support? 1.Review the Organizer and team hosting the event. 2.Review teams track record – is this the first TEDx event hosted by this team? 3.Review the speaker lineup. 4.Bigger is not necessarily better; smaller events can offer a more targeted and meaningful experience. As a Partner, you will need to assess this TEDx event as you would any other conference you would consider supporting. EventName

Vision EventName

TEDx began as a grand experiment. The program has been embraced with passion and dedication by hundreds, if not thousands of volunteer communities across the planet. TED is excited about the possibilities of what this could mean to you as a Partner, your local TEDx event and to your community. We encourage you to see TEDx[eventname] as an incubator for new ideas within your company and a way to engage in an authentic dialogue with your local community. Vision EventName

There is a TEDx Corporate program for leveraging the TEDx platform inside of your company. 39 EventName Case Studies: Pop-up Laboratory Across from their main event venue, TEDxTaipei set up a pop-up laboratory that created a space for further conversations of the ideas that came from their event. The space included a “Future Display”, a cafe, a simulcast lounge, a “Future Hotel” and a speakers exhibition space.
