Eurostat The main lessons learned A clear governance structure is essential; Close cooperation of business and IT side needed; Early involvement of all stakeholders (national and international); Content pilot followed by technical pilot actions; Discussions: 80% content / 20% technical Strong push from National Accounts & Balance of Payments statistics created the momentum;

Eurostat Conclusion SDMX statistical and technical standards together with SDMX IT tools and IT infrastructure provide the "toolkit" for the harmonisation and integration of data structures, the rationalisation of national/international data flows, finally improving the data quality of official statistics.
