Now Presenting… On the following slides, the students in Mr. Purtlebaugh’s class have researched and learned about the 7 body systems. They have worked in groups to create the following slides for your enjoyment and information!

The Nervous System By: Sam M., Andrew and Luke

Nervous system Sense organs are in the nervous system. Sense organs help get you get information about your environment. There are five sense organs.

The human brain is a mass of neurons by the skull.

How Muscular System Works Your brain sends a message to any part of your body and tells it what to do. There are two types of muscles, voluntary and involuntary. Your voluntary muscles are muscles that you can control. Only voluntary muscles move your bones. Involuntary muscles make movements you cannot control.

Organs Of muscles There are many kinds of muscles. Some of your muscles are :Biceps, triceps, abdominals, quadraceps, hamstrings, gastrocnemius, Gluteus Maxinus, latissimus dorsi, trapezius, and pectoralis major. Your muscles are very strong [hope your stay that way ]

Location Your muscles are mostly located all over your body. They are in your stomach, legs, arms, and your back.

Caring for your muscles Your muscles help your body move. Stretching exercises help keep your muscles flexible. Warming up before exercising prevents injuries. To care for your muscles, you need to exercise regularly. Walking, running, and riding a bike will help your muscles stay strong. Eating healthy foods will also help your muscles stay strong, too.

Care for your bones Eat foods high in calcium. Exercise regularly. Have good posture. Wear gear that protects you from injury.

Facts Your skeletal system sits, stands, or moves. The place where to or more bones meet is called a joint. Some bones make blood cells in bone marrow.

Bone marrow is a soft tissue in the center of many bones,such as those in your arms and legs.

The Digestive System The digestion starts in the mouth with chewing. The chewing breaks up the food and mixes it with saliva.

The Digestive System The muscles in the esophagus move food down to the stomach. Food gets churned down into the stomach. The stomach acid and other liquids prepare food to be broken down
