2 - 2015 - THE YEAR OF OPPORTUNITY UNGA, NEW YORK September 2015 The post-2015 development framework unveiled COP 21, PARIS December 2015 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) For good, or for bad, this brief window in history will have far reaching consequences

3 BUT THE HUGE OPPORTUNITY OF 2015 IS AT RISK: Complex politics in the United Nations World leaders not prioritising the two processes Ordinary people don't know about them and their voices are not being heard

4 WHAT IS ? is a growing global citizens’ movement that will ensure that 2015 is the year that will secure a more sustainable and equal future for people and planet

5 What is the goal & vision of ? Goal To inspire actions that empower the marginalised & collectively tackle the root causes of inequality, injustice, poverty and climate change. Vision We want a transformational shift that ensures gender justice and enables everyone to live their lives in dignity, free from hunger and from the fear of violence, oppression, discrimination or injustice, in a way that protects the planetary systems required for survival of life on earth. This is the world we want and believe can be achieved!

9 HOW WILLINSPIRE AND ENGAGE? The movement will link together and amplify all the great work already being done by climate and development communities around the world in 2015 by building on what is already going on.

Participants in the movement are already using to amplify their existing initiatives Explosive global moments of activity across the lifetime of the campaign working as part of a global coalition we can bring together unique partnerships and surprising collaborations to deliver impact around the world.

13 MOMENTUM IS PICKING UP AROUND THE WORLD action/2015 coalitions are being formed in countries around the world, building on the knowledge, expertise and support of existing networks. These include: India Wada Na Todo is convening existing civil society networks and are planning national activity for the autumn of 2014 and through into 2015 Kenya momentum is building with a digital campaign having already launched over the summer #mykenya UK The national network of NGOs/CSOs (called BOND) held meetings on action/2015 before starting to develop how action/2105 will link with existing strategies for 2015 drawing in the international UN processes along side next year’s general election! Mexico An group of NGOs who have campaigned together before around the G20 getting together to discuss how action/2015 can work in Mexico

14 UNIQUE VOICES Together we are bringing together unique partnerships and surprising collaborations to deliver impact around the world. Ambassadors from Hollywood to Bollywood, young and old, serious and hilarious are planning how they can get involved. This impressive group of people have already delivered a powerful message to world leaders through an open letter that was published in media outlets in over 15 countries:

Launched with photo booths in major cities. “Global Move for Justice” – Moving to raise awareness about injustice, e.g. creating a dancing human chain from a place of injustice to one of justice (or symbolic)

18 Campaign Assembly Made up of all organisations in campaign. Next meeting November 2014 Global Hub Helps drive the campaign – building and maintaining its momentum Reference Group Advisory role to the campaign's Global Hub and Action Teams. Light touch steer and guidance. Global Action Teams Action Teams develop and deliver specific activities for the campaign. All are open to all campaign members.
