9
Quality Pathway Supported Researcher Status will be awarded for: Holding an Australian Competitive Grant in the reporting year; Being an author of a research book in the reporting year which was published by a defined ‘quality publisher’; Publishing a refereed journal article in a journal ranked in the top 25% in its field according to impact factor (ISI indexed journals only).
10
Points-based System Points are awarded for: –Research income –Supervising a higher degree by research completion –Research publications
11
Research Income Points Point allocation 1 point per $5,000 of Category 1 income 1 point per $10,000 for category 2, 3 & 4 income Eligible staff Awarded to the chief investigators named on the original grant application Calculation of SR points Collection year income ÷ number of CIs Income per CI ÷ 5,000 (Cat 1 income) or 10,000 (Cat 2, 3 & 4 income)
12
Research Income Points Example 5 chief investigators apply for and win a $120,000 Category 2 Grant. In 2007 they receive $60,000. 2008 SR points = $60,000 ÷ 5 CIs = $12,000 per CI = $12,000 ÷ $10,000 = 1.2 points per CI
