ISPRS XX. Congress in Istanbul 2004: A question raised from students and young professionals to have a special session within the ISPRS Congress in Istanbul with an age limit of paper authors started several youth activities in Istanbul. With the success of activities in the Congress The ISPRS Council decided to set up Student Consortium within: Commission VI “Education and Outreach” Working group 5: “Promotion of the Profession to Students”

Statute of ISPRS SC The current Statute of ISPRS Student Consortium was accepted by the GA of ISPRS SC in Beijing on 5th July 2008. Right after, It was approved by ISPRS Council.

ISPRS STUDENT CONSORTIUM Mission: The main purpose of the SC is to link students, young researchers and professionals in different countries, who are interested in the photogrammetry, remote sensing and spatial information sciences, to provide a platform for exchange of information, to organize student-specific events and other actions that integrate students and youth more effectively into ISPRS activities.

Some of the Activies since 2008 By the end of the ISPRS Congress in Beijing a new term started SC has updated its structure with new tasks and variety of activities. ISPRS SC Board and Regional Members are working on to spread the word among regional, local communities as well as individuals. many actions are taken such as preparation and distribution of leaflets, presentations, PR activities. 4th ISPRS WG VI/5 and Student Consortium Summer School, Warsaw 2009 organized successfully organized with participation from 15 countries. A journal published with the selected papers of the organized Student Consortium Conference Four issues of newsletters are published, one also in printed. A new version of website designed and programmed.

ISPRS SC 2010 ACTIVITIES There are a number of Global, Regional and Local Events and various activities.. Activities in ISPRS Technical Commission Symposiums TC I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII 5th Annual ISPRS SC Summer School Presentations at various events and organizations: IGSM, ARGEOS, RSPSoc, Newsletter Several PR activities …But not limited to these above
