4 Two main purposes: - Screen (Internet / Computer Screen) Low resolution that load very fast - Print (Higher Resolution Images) Print resolution = 300dpi or above Screen resolution = 72dpi Note: dpi (dots per inch) Deciding what the image will be used for (resolution differences)

5 In Bitmapped Graphics: - You may scale down the image - But you cannot scale up the image without losing quality There are several types of bitmap graphics: JPG, GIF, TIFF and BITMAP are the main types. Deciding what the image will be used for (resolution differences)

6 Adobe Photoshop – An Introduction Most definitive image processing software available. All other image making software is judged by how good it is against Photoshop.
