Welcome to my 8 th Grade Class Mrs. Roehm

Classroom Expectations Come in to class, get seated, get quiet when the bell rings without being reminded. Raise your hand if you have a question or comment. Do not talk out. I expect you to show mutual respect in my classroom. Be considerate. While working in groups use quiet voices and stay on task.

Classroom Rules and Procedures Bring materials to class. That includes pencil, paper, text and supplies from my materials list. Please sharpen pencils before the bell rings. You will need to use a pass or take a tardy to go to your locker or the rest room. Completed assignments should be turned in to the appropriate wire basket for your class period. Be safe. No tipping back in your chair. No gum or candy is allowed in the classroom. At the end of class, wait to be dismissed before leaving.

Math and Science Supply List Highlighter Ruler Colored pencils (box of 24) Box of assorted markers Glue stick Box of 24 pencils

Science Class Tips Keep all homework assignments and handouts in a folder to review before each chapter test. Be sure to read chapter assignments. Then you will be ready to participate in class discussions. Review class notes and foldables before each chapter test. Power Point notes are available on my website for each chapter we cover.

Pre-Algebra and Algebra Tips Keep all class notes (colored sheets) in a folder. They could be worth bonus points. Ask questions! That helps everyone. Come in for help during study hall or arrange a time with me. Don’t let yourself get behind. Be sure to review notes and practice problems before taking a test. When going over assignments, find your mistakes and learn from them.

I am looking forward to the 2006-2007 school year. I get excited as another year begins. I am anxious to get to know each of you. Let me introduce myself.. I am Mrs. Roehm. I teach science, pre-algebra, and algebra. This is my 14 th year of teaching. I am the Pathfinder Sponsor as well as the Science Academic Coach at SVMS. In my spare time I enjoy reading, going for walks, and flying airplanes. Here is one of my favorite quotes: Your future depends on many things, but mostly on you.
