2 JPI Water Partnership The grand challenge is to close the gap between the demand and supply of water by 2030

3 JPI Water Partnership Under an average economic growth and an actual efficiency improvement of 1% a year, the world wide water demand and supply gap will be approximately 40% by 2030

6 - The current core group is integrated by Austria, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Romania, and Spain. - The template is under elaboration based in the existing one, but introducing the suggestions from the Commission and the new partners. Nevertheless, considering the recent bad news on ERA-NET water, the objectives would be partially reformulated. -The document is focused in three main objectives: Social, Technological and Economical. -We will consider scientific topics related to Water Management, Pollutants, Treatment and Reuse and Social, Political and Economical Issues. - The next meeting will be organized in Brussels in 6-7 April. - The target is to present the final template before May 4 (if possible). 7 JPI Water Partnership INTEGRATION The JPI is permanently open for integrating other Countries, Institutions and Stakeholders interested in water management and research: Institutions such as: ·The European Water Partnership ·The European Platform for Sustainable Chemistry ·Consumer Organizations ·Other European and Associated Countries will be informed of the JPI progress
