3 Attendance  Over 200 public members attended the Members’ Say event  Mainly new attendees but some frequent fliers  Attendance reflected our local demographics

4 Seminars – Clinical Research  About 80 people attended the seminars  A number signed up to either participate in a research project or join a lay steering committee.  The majority were aware that we are a research-active hospital, but were very interested by the range of research questions that we were asking.  Some patients had already participated in research and were vocal advocates of our work in the Q&A sessions.

5 Seminars – Compassionate Care  Members felt they had been listened to  Felt they had contributed  Felt like they had made a difference  Appreciated the update  This work has led to being shortlisted for a national Patient experience network award

6 Focus groups - Outpatients  Outpatients focus groups provided the opportunity for members to contribute to the review of outpatient services  The groups focused on improving our understanding of some of the outputs from an earlier survey of members on the same issue  Helped to refine the plans

8 Focus Groups - Reputation  Three focus groups looked at prompted and unprompted responses on the RD&E’s reputation and branding. Around 40 members of the Trust attended.  Prompted response: Professional Good reputation/word of mouth Dynamic Safe Competent E fficient Trustworthy Delivered with care Research
