4. The Google mobile friendly update – Mobilegeddon FAQ 1.When? Google announced, that they are releasing an update to their search ranking algorithm on April 21st. And they did. 2.Impact? According to Google, the update will impact only mobile searches and will give a ranking boost to mobile friendly pages in Google’s mobile search results only. 3.What about desktop searches? Desktop rankings will not be affected, only mobile desktop searches will be affected. 4.What about tablet searches? Tablet searches will not be affected as well.
