SOME HISTORY TO GET INTO THE TOPIC OF THE EURO-SEE COOPERATION *The South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) was launched on Bulgaria's initiative in 1996. At the Bulgaria-chaired meeting in Sofia, the SouthEast Europe (SEE) countries laid the foundations for regional co-operation for the purposes of creating an atmosphere of trust, good neighborly relations and stability. Membership: - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Republic of Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, Turkey (founding members) - Croatia (2005), Moldova (2006), Montenegro (2007) and Slovenia (2010) - Kosovo (2014) * The SEECP is a regional non-institutionalised process co-ordinated by the presiding country. The SEECP presidency lasts for one year and is rotated among the members. Silvia Crocitta, EuroDemos Youth Mobility NGO – Krusevo 2014

HOW WE DO REALLY “SEE” TODAY? The Euro-SEE Cooperation Process The South-East European Cooperation Process is a forum for diplomatic and political dialogue reaffirming the political will and readiness of the countries from SEE to work together and to follow a common agenda thus meeting the region’s needs of stability, security, democratization and economic prosperity. Charter on Good Neighborly Relations, Stability, and Security adopted in Bucharest at the meeting of South East European Heads of State and Ministers on 12th February 2000 clearly outlines the overall goals of cooperation among the countries in the region: 1. Enhancement of political and security cooperation 2. Fostering economic cooperation 3. Enlargement of cooperation in the fields of human dimension, democracy, justice and combating illegal activities Silvia Crocitta, EuroDemos Youth Mobility NGO – Krusevo 2014
