Discipleship is Relationship 2 nd Timothy 1:3-7

1:3 – “I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day.” 1:4 – “As I remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy.”

2 nd Timothy 1:3-7 1:5 – “I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.” 1:6 – “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands,” 1:7 – “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control.”

Discipleship – Close, Intimate Relationships Paul’s words of affection and love – Remember you- constantly in my prayers – Remember your tears - long for you – Filled with joy Close, intimate relationships are developed: – Over time – Through love and affection Are you developing close intimate relationships with other believers?

Discipleship – Relationship Centered On Jesus Christ I am sure dwells in you as well – Paul was confident of Timothy’s salvation Sincere faith – – Non-hypocritical – Not play acting Have you come to the starting line? Do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ?

Discipleship – Relationship Which Challenges And Encourages Other Believers Challenge – fan into flame – use your spiritual gift Encouragement – God has given a spirit not of fear ….. – Fear - Cowardly Are you challenging and encouraging other believers?
