5 Why?  Friendly letters convey personal information about ourselves.  They show caring and concern for friends and relations.  Taking the time to hand-write a letter demonstrates our level of caring

6 Formatting  Friendly letters should be hand written.  Write on the backs of pages, if necessary.

7 Heading TTTThe heading includes your address and the date. LLLLine up the leading edges, STOP at the margin line

9 Salutation UUUUsually begins with the word “Dear” and is followed by the person’s name. PPPPlace a comma after the person’s name. LLLLeave one blank line after the heading. WWWWrite the salutation at the left-hand margin.

15 Signature  Sign your letter beneath your closing.  For friendly letters, your first name is usually enough, unless the person doesn’t know you very well.

17 Post Script (P.S.) AAAA postscript is an afterthought that you write at the end of the letter. PPPP.S. stand for the Latin words post (“after”) and script (“writing”). SSSSkip one line after your signature, then write “P.S. - ” at the margin.

20 LET’S PRACTISE! 1. Make a group of 4 students 2. Each group will be given a random paragraphs of a personal letter 3. Arrange the paragraphs to a good order 4. Please ask your friends and teacher if you have any questions 5. Good Luck!

21 SEND ME A LETTER  Based on example above, in a piece of paper, kindly write down a short personal letter to a person who you know very well and wish to meet.  Do not forget to express your gratitude to Jesus Christ for having an opportunity to know your beloved one  Do not forget to consider the general format discussed.  Submit it TODAY!
