doc.: IEEE 802.22-14/0043r0 Submission March 2014 Keat-Beng Toh, Hitachi Kokusai ElectricSlide 2 This contribution presents the comment resolution related to Multi-channel operation for CID #12, #15, #16, #17 and #18. Abstract

doc.: IEEE 802.22-14/0043r0 Submission March 2014 Keat-Beng Toh, Hitachi Kokusai ElectricSlide 3 Comment Resolution related to CID #12 IDCommentSuggested Remedy 12mandatory parameters included in the commence operation request should be listed in stead of using etc. Solution 1. List all necessary parameters in text; Solution 2. produce a table of parameters (necessary and optional or only necessary) and refer to the table. Proposed Remedy: Accepted In 7.24.1.1.2, the various parameters that may be included during the commence operation request are not stated as the mandatory parameters.

doc.: IEEE 802.22-14/0043r0 Submission March 2014 Keat-Beng Toh, Hitachi Kokusai ElectricSlide 4 Comment Resolution related to CID #15 IDCommentSuggested Remedy 15Superframe structure is not used in IEEE P802.22b PHY mode 2 superframe →should Proposed Remedy: Accepted Modify the description text in the sub-clause 7.24.1.1.7 to explain the operation for PHY mode 1 and PHY mode 2.

doc.: IEEE 802.22-14/0043r0 Submission March 2014 Keat-Beng Toh, Hitachi Kokusai ElectricSlide 5 Modify the description text in the sub-clause 7.24.1.1.7 as shown in the proposed text –(original text) The BS-CHU shall perform the BS-CHU synchronization procedure. This procedure is intended for network synchronization to synchronize the superframe, frame and TDD timing of a number of BS in a wireless communication system. Basically, this procedure shall synchronize the superframe to the start of each minute of the UTC time obtained from the GPS, etc. As a result, all the operating BS-CHU shall be synchronized with each other. –(proposed text) The BS-CHU shall perform the BS-CHU synchronization procedure. On PHY mode 1, this procedure is intended for network synchronization to synchronize the superframe, frame and TDD timing of a number of BS in a wireless communication system. Basically, this procedure shall synchronize the superframe to the start of each minute of the UTC time obtained from the GPS, etc. On PHY mode 2, this procedure is intended for network synchronization to synchronize the frame and TDD timing of a number of BS in a wireless communication system. Basically, this procedure shall synchronize the frame to the start of each minute of the UTC time obtained from the GPS, etc. As a result, all the operating BS-CHU shall be synchronized with each other.

doc.: IEEE 802.22-14/0043r0 Submission March 2014 Keat-Beng Toh, Hitachi Kokusai ElectricSlide 6 Comment Resolution related to CID #16 IDCommentSuggested Remedy 16"Therefore, multi-channel operation shall be considered as…..." shall→should Proposed Remedy: Rejected Multi-channel operation is a proven technology for its technical feasibility during the latest TVWS trial and shall be considered as one of the means to fulfil the requirement of supporting enhanced broadband services and monitoring applications that require high data throughput.

doc.: IEEE 802.22-14/0043r0 Submission March 2014 Keat-Beng Toh, Hitachi Kokusai Electric Slide 7 Comment Resolution related to CID #17 Proposed Remedy: Accepted Add extra description text in the sub-clause 7.24.1.4.3 to explain the sequence of the above steps can be reverse. IDCommentSuggested Remedy 17To save channel switch time, BS-CHU delivers channel switch request to CPE-CHU firstly and then response acknowledgement to BS-CAM change step 4) to 3) and step 3) to 4)

doc.: IEEE 802.22-14/0043r0 Submission March 2014 Keat-Beng Toh, Hitachi Kokusai ElectricSlide 8 Add the following sentence in the sub-clause 7.24.1.4.3 as shown in the proposed text –The BS-CHU may send the channel switch request acknowledgement to the BS-CAM after BS-CHU sent the channel switch request to the CPE-CHU as described in 7.24.1.4.4 for shortening the channel switch time.

doc.: IEEE 802.22-14/0043r0 Submission March 2014 Keat-Beng Toh, Hitachi Kokusai ElectricSlide 9 Comment Resolution related to CID #18 Proposed Remedy: Accepted Modify the description text in the sub-clause 7.24.1.4.6 to explain the necessity of having CPE-CAM. IDCommentSuggested Remedy 18Channel request is from BS-CAM→BS-CHU→CPE- CHU→CPE-CAM. What is necessity of having CPE- CAM?

doc.: IEEE 802.22-14/0043r0 Submission March 2014 Keat-Beng Toh, Hitachi Kokusai ElectricSlide 10 Modify the description text in the sub-clause 7.24.1.4.6 as shown in the proposed text –(original text) The CPE-CHU shall send the channel switch notification to the CPE-CAM. –(proposed text) The CPE-CHU shall send the channel switch notification to the CPE-CAM in order to acquire channel switch approval/command from the CPE-CAM.
