3  These are very common here.  They have strong winds, heavy rain, lightning, and thunder.  How to tell if a storm is far away:  If you hear the thunder at the same time as you see the lightning, the storm is right above you.  If you see the lightning and then hear the thunder, the storm is farther away from you.

4  Safety Tips:  Stay away from open spaces  Don’t touch any metal  Don’t stand near a tree  Don’t get in any water

Form from thunderstorms.  There are really strong winds and a lot of rain, sometimes thunderstorms.  There are a lot of floods with hurricanes.  In the middle of the storm is what’s called an eye. This is a pause in the storm, but the other half still has to pass through.
