Insert presentation title The only way to measure sea level and velocity routinely all around Australia is by combining altimetry with tidegauges.
3
Insert presentation title Sea level, velocity, chl-a and temperature provide three complementary views of the ocean
4
OceanCurrent uses synoptic and in-situ data to provide quick-looks of ocean conditions Insert presentation title

2011-12: start Commenced August-Sept 2011 Renovate, prune, re-organise & re-brand CMAR RS web site Move all content to AODN (new content is added using rsync) Altimetry-derived data sets submitted daily to EMII. Exposed instantly. http://opendap- vpac.arcs.org.au/thredds/catalog/IMOS/OceanCurrent/GSLA/N RT00/2012/catalog.htmlhttp://opendap- vpac.arcs.org.au/thredds/catalog/IMOS/OceanCurrent/GSLA/N RT00/2012/catalog.html News Items (Ocean and Technical) posted opportunistically Insert presentation title

2011-12: Dec 2011 milestone Switched to using the L3U single-pass SST imagery produced for IMOS by BoM http://aodaac2- cbr.act.csiro.au:8080/thredds/catalog/imos/GHRSST/L3U/catalo g.htmlhttp://aodaac2- cbr.act.csiro.au:8080/thredds/catalog/imos/GHRSST/L3U/catalo g.html This enabled high-res zooms for Esperance, GAB, Tasmania Insert presentation title

2011 – other progress Switched to using the NOAA Radar Altimetry Database System (RADS) – keeps us up-to-date with the latest corrections, for all altimeters Started including Cryosat altimeter in near-real-time analysis on 9 Dec 2011. The earned us a mention on the ESA News page. http://www.esa.int/esaCP/SEMI2KBX9WG_index_0.html Insert presentation title

2011-12: work still in progress Using the IMOS L3S SST 3-day (day-only and night-only) composite produced by BoM as well as the CMAR composites Presently only showing the latter. Problem with cloud-flagging of night-time L3S has now been found. Insert presentation title

2012-13: plans Sept 2012: show other IMOS data, e.g. gliders, SOOP, radars, moorings Dec 2012: News Items now regular March 2013: Hindcast (1992-2011) altimetry-based products lodged with EMII June 2013: website in final form. Insert presentation title
