www.etr2awarp.net/stepchange E-trading issues Problem: Data Loss 43% of companies that experience a severe data loss, and have no recovery plan in place, never re-open 99% of all businesses do not do a daily backup Solution: Back up your key data on a regular basis. Backup to an external device. Restore from that backup each month to check it works.

It also reported that, an average of 25 spyware programs were installed on the computers studied (Panda 2005) Solution: Install a firewall. An effective firewall will stop unauthorised access to your machine. It will also stop a trojan or bot being activated. Zone Alarm is a good free product -Windows XP has an inbuilt firewall

www.etr2awarp.net/stepchange Filtered Warning Service This service provides information on current threats to the community and can range from information on current virus attacks, information on current scams they need to be aware of and industry news. The information members receive is tailored to their needs through the use of their profile which is customised to each user and broadly covers the software and hardware they use within their business.

www.etr2awarp.net/stepchange Advice Brokering Service where members can learn from other members initiatives & experience using a bulletin board messaging service restricted to WARP members only. Subjects can be anything which adds value to the members e.g. patch management, training, supplier/product evaluations, security awareness. Trusted Sharing Service where reports are anonymised so members can learn from each others attacks & incidents without fear of embarrassment or recrimination.
