Each casts a shadow consists at a cone shaped area of darkness called the umbra where all the light from the Sun is out off and a larger area of partial darkness called the penumbra. Which surrounds the umbra and revives light from a part of the Suns disc.

13. Lunar eclipse A lunar eclipse is when the moon turns red because the moon is in the Earths shadow.
