Luke 21:34-36 34 35 36 34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” 1 Timothy 3:7 7 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Luke 17:1 Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! The word “offence” here is the Greek word “scandalon” this word refers to the part of a trap where the bait is attached. It is also where the English word “scandal” comes from. So Jesus is referring to laying a trap in someone's way, or starting something that would bring scandal or hurt to a person.

Proverbs 18:6-8 6 7 8 6 A fool’s lips enter into contention, And his mouth calls for blows. 7 A fool’s mouth is his destruction, And his lips are the snare of his soul. 8 The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles, And they go down into the inmost body. The most successful trap that the enemy uses against anyone is often the words of their own mouth.

1 Samuel 18:20-22 20 21 20 Now Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved David. And they told Saul, and the thing pleased him. 21 So Saul said, “I will give her to him, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” Therefore Saul said to David a second time, “You shall be my son-in-law today.” 22 22 And Saul commanded his servants, “Communicate with David secretly, and say, ‘Look, the king has delight in you, and all his servants love you. Now therefore, become the king’s son-in-law.’” It was this same daughter of Saul that ridiculed King David in 2 Samuel 6 for taking off his royal apparel and danced with all his might before the Lord. After two things never happened again. She never gave birth and she was never called David’s wife, but Saul’s daughter

Judges 16:4-5 4 5 4 Afterward it happened that he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. 5 And the lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, “Entice him, and find out where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and every one of us will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.” Satan will use anything and anyone that he can as a trap against you. He will not only use the words of your own mouth as a trap but he will use your own emotions to snare you.

2 Samuel 11:1-5 It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem. 2 3 4 5 2 Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold. 3 So David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” 4 Then David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with her, for she was cleansed from her impurity; and she returned to her house. 5 And the woman conceived; so she sent and told David, and said, “I am with child.” This was no accident it was a TRAP!!!

Psalm 91:2-4 2 2 I will say of the L ORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 4 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. Your only hope is absolute trust in the Lord to cover you, and deliver you if you are trapped!!!

Psalm 124:6-8 6 8 6 Blessed be the L ORD, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. 7 Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; The snare is broken, and we have escaped. 8 Our help is in the name of the L ORD, Who made heaven and earth

Luke 4:18 18 18 “The Spirit of the L ORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
