The Local Offer provides information about services, facilities, activities and support available for children, young people and their families across Peterborough and in our adjoining areas Every local authority area was required to produce and make available their Local Offer from 1 st September 2014 www.peterborough.gov.uk and search for ‘Local Offer’, or Google ‘Peterborough Local Offer’ www.peterborough.gov.uk What is the Local Offer?

More than a directory of services….in Peterborough our Local Offer will be an interactive, accessible web-based source of diverse and current information special educational provision health services social care services other educational provision training travel arrangements for children and young people to schools, colleges and early years education settings preparing for adulthood, including housing, employment and leisure opportunities What is the Local Offer?

Improved outcomes for children and young people Children, young people and families informed and empowered to make choices Managed expectations – people will be clearer about what is available and why, and what alternatives are available More effective signposting – less disappointment for families who have been incorrectly referred to services in the past Changed relationships between children/young people/parents and professionals as there will be more honesty, better accuracy of advice given, less time wasting and more trust Local Offer Outcomes
