7. Radiologic Technologist/ Technician What does a “Rad Tech” do? Mostly, a radiographer takes X-rays of patients. This includes preparing the patient for the process and developing the X-ray film. A CT (computerized tomography) technologist uses a scanner to produce viewable cross-sections of the body. Tomography is imaging by sections. MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) technologists are also radiographers, but they use magnets and radio waves to produce images, not radiation.

8. Pharmacist What does a “Pharmacist” do? You are responsible for filling patient’s prescriptions with the correct medicines. You tell them about the medicines and how to use them. You also work with doctors on choosing the right medicines, making sure they will work with other medications taken by the patient and explaining side effects. To obtain a license, pharmacist generally must earn a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from a college of pharmacy and pass several examinations.

You may educate patients on brushing and flossing, develop X-rays or help treat diseases of the mouth. You will assist the dentist and keep patient records, set up the patient and the dental equipment. On-the-job training is a popular method to acquire dental assistant skills.
