Job Description Normally specialize in the process of birth Deliver babies; provide medical care and treatment during and after pregnancy Deals with the reproductive systems of women Monitors women’s overall health; administering pap smears and perform hysterectomies With further training you can specialize; areas such as high risk pregnancy and infertility

Working Conditions Work in hospitals, clinics, and private practices Often work at least 60 hours a week; always on call Must be able work on a short notice Requires maturity and compassion; physically and mentally demanding

Education Required 3-4 years at college with a bachelors degree and required science courses 2-4 years of medical school (sometimes it can take 2 or more years before you are excepted into a medical school) 4 years of residency
