4. Brisbane- capital of Queens-land. Tropical climate makes it a year-round vacation place. Population of about 1,400,000.

5. Canberra – is the capital of Australia. Located Territory (ACT) in the southeast corner of New South Wales. Only Australian capital which of not situated on the seacoast. Population of about 300,000.

6. Darwin – is the capital and the largest city of the Northern Territory. Tropical climate. Population of about 70,000.

7. Hobart – is the capital of the Australian island-state Tasmania. Winters are cold. Population of about 200,000.

8. Melbourne – is the capital of Victoria, the second largest city in Australia. Population about 3,200,000.

9. Sydney – is the capital of New South Wales. Australia’s oldest, largest and industrial city. Nearly a quarter of all Australians live here. Population of about 4,340,000 and growing.

10. Perth – is the capital of state of Western Australia. Winters are cold. Population of about 200,000.
