2. Galen G. Weston Jr. Galen Weston is a Canadian Business man and the current Executive Chairman of Loblaw Companies Ltd. Which is the largest food retailer in Canada.

3. Since his take over of the family empire in 2006 Mr. Weston has been the prime driver behind working towards a new environmentally friendly image for Loblaw. From reducing energy consumed by company facilities to the introduction of healthier food products, the efforts put in place have had a measurable impact on the Company’s overall sustainability.

4. Two of the most notable efforts taken by the company in recent years have been: The national reduction of the use of plastic bags by 73% since 2007, this translates to 2.5 billion fewer plastic bags used since 2007. The commitment to source 100% of all the seafood sold in store by the end of 2013. Loblaw stores currently hold the record for having the highest number of wild-caught seafood products in Canada. The company’s efforts has gained it support from many NGOs across Canada.
