Introduction Through the tour I learned many things about ancient Greece. I learned about buildings like the Parthenon. I learned about pottery and the art of making sculptures. The Greek education system was another thing that I learned about. Also, the Greeks really liked drama and plays. I learned all of this on my walking tour of Athens.

The Parthenon was a very impressive work of architecture The Parthenon A great temple built to worship Athena Main feature was a 35 foot tall solid gold statue of Athena Piece of stone from the Parthenon

Education School comprised of music, sports and literature Education was a huge part of Athenian life Most Athenians could both read and write Quill used to write literature in Athenian school

Athenian Theatre Main play types were tragedies and comedies Had gigantic marble outdoor theaters Plays were a very common thing that anybody, citizen or not, could observe Piece of cloth from play’s costume

Pottery Cooked clay in kilns that got up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit There were three eras of Greek pottery Clay pots were useful and a valuable item in Greece Shard of pottery

Sculpture Made sculptures to honor heroes and worship gods Made the sculptures out of ivory and rock, however they could also make metal statues Most statues were life-size or even bigger than life-size Jewel from a statue of a great Greek hero

Conclusion During my walking tour of Athens I learned much about ancient Greece. I learned about sculpture building and pottery while in Athens. The Parthenon was a great architectural achievement for ancient Greece. I wanted to visit an Athenian house to see what daily life was for the people of ancient Athens. During the golden age Athens was a spectacular place to visit.
