My name is Christina Schultz, I am 18 years old and I am currently a senior. I am adopted and have lived with 5 different families. I’ve lived in multiple states across the country, and am now back to my roots, I was born close by in Knoxville, TN.

Elementary school came very easily to me, especially the math In middle school I began to branch out and try new things such as theatre and competitive teams By high school I had received many academic awards and achievements.

It is important for us to have our letters, resumes, and transcripts now so that we have them to use in our future. Our transcripts will be used from now until the time that we graduate college to help colleges and/or employers see our work ethic and intellectual capabilities.

I researched marine biology as my career › Marine biologists have to be very open to change, because they travel and spend a large amount of time in the field. › In order to be successful, I would need to complete many classes in chemistry and biology. › I would also need to have the ability to give up my time to work 18-24 hour days.

Three things I learned from future budgeting: › You have to save money to have it when you need it. › It’s good to put away money for emergencies. › You need to watch your spending to have money for the important things.

My letters of recommendation were from Ms. Goan and Mr. Haliburton. I plan to use these to add to the resume I will use to apply for future jobs and colleges.

Communication: › Positive communication is important in a career. › An employee needs to know how to speak to their employers. Enthusiasm/Attitude: › Your attitude affects the people you work with. › A positive attitude makes you more desirable. Teamwork: › Its important to know how to work in a group setting. › You should be able to work well with others.

Networking: › The people you meet can help you further your career. › Connections help when job hunting. Problem-Solving: › The ability to solve problems is helpful in any career. › Critical thinking is an important quality. Professionalism: › The way you present yourself can be the decision maker for employers. › “Dress for success” applies when job hunting.

StrengthsWeaknesses I am very determined, when I need to get something done, I work at it until it’s complete. I am ADD, so I have a tendency to get distracted easily. I have a mind full of creativity. I’m always coming up with new ways to do things. I get stuck on one task until I complete it. I work and do things to the best of my abilities. I like to do things in order, I hate to skip around.

Professional Success: › Defined by soft skills. › Achieved by completing goals based on your profession. › Means making the right choices to get to where you want to be in your career. Personal Success: › You must make goals to work towards. › It all depends on the person, just because you can doesn’t mean you will. › To rise, you must fall and get back up again.

Five of my future goals: › To complete college with a 3.8 GPA or higher. › To take a Broad Reach program to the Caribbean Islands. › To get a job in an aquarium or a marine research facility. › To move to Florida, and finish my masters degree. › Adopt my first child and buy my first house after graduation.

What are three qualities that would be most beneficial in marine biology? › People skills: Marine biologist deal with people all over the world. › Generosity: One must be very generous with their time. › Problem-solving skills: A person must be able to solve problems while in the field.
