Adjective usage Adjectives are describing words; they describe/modify something else. Some adjectives can be used to describe things and people: That was a wonderful idea. He was wonderful. Some adjectives are not used to describe people: She had a subsequent meeting. He committed a subsequent offense. NO: He was subsequent.
