8 8 © Triangle Consulting Social Enterprise 2015 The Outcomes Star™ story A collaborative bottom-up process Homelessness was the first Star, developed in 2003 with St Mungos The Outcomes Star was then published in 2006 for the sector, thanks to the London Housing Foundation The Mental Health Recovery Star was next, in 2008, with the Mental Health Providers Forum Today Triangle have published over 20 versions, with more being developed Stars are developed and piloted with Service Users, Workers and Managers from a range of relevant services The star is widely used in the UK by charities, housing associations, NHS trusts, Local authorities as well as across Europe, Canada, USA & Australia

17 17 © Triangle Consulting Social Enterprise 2015 Training Exercise Using the Star with service users 1 person to be a Support Worker and 1 person to be a young person Support Worker to introduce the Star to the young person, and to work with them to complete a couple of scales Discuss the experience in pairs – as the Young Person, offer one good practice tip to the Support Worker Swap roles and repeat the exercise

18 18 © Triangle Consulting Social Enterprise 2015 Training Exercise Building Consistency In pairs build a scenario to match the Area and Number on the card you have chosen Recount the scenario to the whole of the group, sharing only which Area of the Star you have The rest of the group will then work out the Number that you have and the stage the young person was at
