3.  Overlap  Positioning  Photo Order  Timing Taking the pictures correctly is the most important part of creating engaging Virtual Tours.

4. When taking photos for panoramas, it is necessary to use an overlap of 20% to 25% from one photo to the next, as this allows the stitching process to function correctly. The easiest way to achieve this is to locate an object close to the end of the first image, and align that object roughly ¼ of the way into the next image. You will repeat this with the rest of the photos in the scene.

5. In order for your photos to stitch into panoramas, you will need to remain in one position, while rotating your body when transitioning from one photo to the next. Essentially, you will be treating yourself like a tripod. Please note, although a tripod will assist the photo taking process, it is not required.

6. The photographs used to create panoramas must be taken from left to right. Taking your photos in the wrong order will result in distorted, poor quality panoramas. Simply start at the left of the scene you wish to capture, take your first photo, rotate to the right (remember to allow for 20%- 25% overlap), take your next photo, and repeat throughout the entire scene.

7. If you are familiar with Property Panorama’s Classic Elite system, you may remember that you were required to take the photos within 20-25 seconds of one another in order for them to stitch. With the InstaView Portfolio, this is no longer the case. As long as photos are taken in order with a 20% - 25% overlap, maintaining one position in the room, the system will create seamless panoramas by recognizing the commonalities in the images.
