4 Rain Forest Return to Main Menu Rainforests are in very warm climates all year round. There are a lot of trees and plants. Rainforests are found in Africa, Asia, Australia and Central and South America. Some animals that live here Monkeys Bengal Tigers Sloths

5 Desert Return to Main Menu Deserts are very dry climates. They get less than 10 inches of rain a year. Very few animals live in the desert because there is so little water. Deserts can be found in Africa, Asia and Australia. Some animals do live there such as Camels Rhinoceroses Snakes

6 Temperate Forest Return to Main Menu A forest is a habitat with many trees and plants. Unlike a Rain Forest, a temperate one has temperatures varying from freezing to 80 º F. Temperate forests exist in more wintery regions such as the United States. Some examples of animals that live here Bears Squirrels Rabbits

7 Wetland Return to Main Menu A wetland is where land is covered by water. Wetlands support a large variety of animals with its water. Wetlands can include ponds, lakes, rivers and the edges of oceans. Some animals that live here include Beavers Reptiles Frogs and more amphibians

8 Grasslands Return to Main Menu Grasslands have very good soil for plants. Grasslands can be found in the Midwest United States, Ukraine, Russia and some of South America. Because plants grow so well, animals love to live there. Some of the many animals living there include Buffalo Horses Deer

9 Ocean Return to Main Menu Ocean habitats are completely underwater. Most of the animals that live in the ocean are fish, but there are also many mammals. Around 70% of the world is covered by water. Some animals that live in the ocean are Whales Fish Sharks

10 Arctic Tundra Return to Main Menu The arctic tundra is the coldest of all the habitats. Many animals living in the tundra hibernate so they can live through the summer. Most of the arctic tundra is in Antarctica, but there is also some in the more northern continents. Some animals that live there are Polar Bear Seals Caribou

11 Urban Return to Main Menu The urban habitat is the one that we has humans live in. Urban habitats can be found wherever humans are. Most urban animals are ones that we keep as pets. Some examples of these Dogs Cats Hamsters
