4. III. Crisis in Little Rock A. Nine black students volunteered to begin integration at Little Rock High School B. They faced massive resistance and threats of violence from the community. C. President Eisenhower sent in federal troops to protect the students and enforce integration.

5. IV. Montgomery Bus Boycott A.Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus which set off the bus boycott B.African-Americans and other people who supported their caused boycotted buses for 381 days. C.In 1956 the Supreme Court outlaws bus segregation

6. V. Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) A.After the boycott ended King joined other ministers in this grassroots organization. B.They planned protest and demonstrations throughout the South.
