3 VLE ‘Powerlink’ Single Interface  Use the Virtual Learning Environment Staff already use the VLE, so let the VLE do the talking to intraLibrary  Simplified searching  Objects stored in one place, accessed by many means we can switch VLE without losing objects

9 Using The Repository - CLA  Developing ways to catalogue the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) scanned material on the repository.  Working within the CLA licence limitations.  Digitisation officer saves the CLA material to the repository and makes the web link available to the academic.  86 WebCT courses are currently using (as of Feb 2008) approx. 325 documents stored on the Intralibrary repository.  Robust storage and retrieval solution.

10 Using The Repository - CLA  CLA workflow developed.  Collection has to be “secure” – providing URLs to lecturers is presently what’s allowed under the licence.  Metadata is currently added using “standard” Intralibrary LOM “title” and “description” field.  New version of Intralibrary will provide more “CLA specific” metadata field “tags”.  Reporting functions will be tested.

11 Other Project Work  Engaging with the academic community, encouraging use/training.  Promoting creation and use of digital learning objects.  Creating workflows on Intralibrary tailored to different user groups.  Helping “early adopters” add content and metadata.  Assess quality of metadata added by Keele’s “early adopters”.

19 Latest Areas Of Focus  New release of Intralibrary Feb ’08.  Testing of new release for recording and reporting functions for CLA material.  Bulk uploading of resources.  Ongoing testing of repository searching functions.  Need for more digital content from academics.  Developing more “academic”-friendly, less data intensive workflows, and devising an abridged contributor “training manual”.  Making a case for continued funding.
