8 Class: In your outside reading for the last lesson, the Geography of East Asia Chapter discussed some elements of Japan’s Geography. – To help refresh your memory and to introduce us to a more in-depth study of Japan’s Geography, Ms. Barben is going to read aloud “Physical Geography of Japan”, and as she does this, you should be using Active Reading Strategies. – Then you will have five minutes to write down the information in the appropriate categories in the attached graphic organizer. Class: Ms. Barben is going to begin her Japan’s Geography Powerpoint, and you should take notes in the provided graphic organizer.

9 Day One: Friday, April 25, 2014 Homework: Label and color-code the Political Map of Japan. Resources to Use: – Ms. Barben’s Separate Maps of Japan Powerpoint – Map Included in Reading – Internet

10 Day Two: Monday, April 28, 2014 Class: Ms. Barben is going to continue her Japan’s Geography Powerpoint, and you should continue to take notes in the provided graphic organizer. Homework: Go to Ms. Barben’s 2011 Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami Powerpoint on her teacher page and take notes for the last category of the graphic organizer.

11 Day Three: Tuesday, April 29, 2014 Class: Ms. Barben is going to finish her Japan’s Geography Powerpoint, and you should finish taking notes in the provided graphic organizer. Class: For the rest of class, we are going to watch a short You Tube Documentary on the 2011 Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami, and you should add to the Homework Powerpoint notes. Homework: Work on the East Asia Study Guide Questions for the first two lessons.
