The gods and goddesses were created by the people, and could take on human shape. There were 13 gods: Apollo, Dionysus, Athena, Ares, Aphrodite, Poseidon, Hephaestus, Hades, Hermes, Zeus, Hestia, Hera, Artemis.

From the magnificent Acropolis in Athens to the more modest shines in the smallest villages, the Greeks built religious monuments that are still admired for their grace and beauty. Once inside, a soul found itself either in paradise or in torment. Only people who had led good lives and whose families provided proper funerals had a chance of enjoying paradise. On the most important occasions, however, they visited a temple dedicated to a god such as Zeus, Poseidon, or Artemis.

Mythology There are myths that explain natural phenomena’s: hail, rain, volcano eruptions, earthquakes, fog, rainbows, etc. Others explain other things, there’s one that explains the four seasons. There are many more myths.

The Greeks invented their mythology to explain the origins of traditions and natural phenomena. A myth is a story about how things came to be. calling a story "a myth" doesn't mean it's not true, just that it's some nation's interpretation of how everything around us showed up. MYTHOLOGY
