3. Waiting for the bell to go. ( To go where? )

4. Why are they all so big, these other children?

5. So noisy? So much at home they must have been born here.

6. Lived their whole lives in the playgrounds

7. Spent years inventing games that don’t let me in.

8. Games that are rough, that swallow you up.

9. And the railings ….

10. All around, the railings.

11. Perhaps they’re to stop us from getting out ….

12. Running away from the lessin. Lessin.

13. What does a lesson look like anyway?

14. Sounds small and slimy.

15. They keep them in glassrooms.

16. Whole rooms made out of glass. Imagine.

17. I wish I could remember my lunch number.

18. Mom said it would come in useful.

19. Like wellies. When there’s puddles.

20. Yellowwellies. I wish Mom was here.

21. I think my lunch number is here somewhere.

22. Perhaps the teacher will find it for me.
