Past Bay Area Projects… Puppet show that addressed issues around illegal immigrants Play about what to do if you find a gun (produced after a schoolmate shot himself) Video interviewing ex-gang members Book of poems A through Z to help teach younger kids how to read Interviewed Oakland Mayoral Candidate and researched Oakland History “Five alive song" about the poor quality of fruits and vegetables found in the Bayview (performed live at City Hall)

Program Requirements All teams must meet for at least 2 hours each week. All classes must take place at a regularly scheduled time and classroom. Prepare for class! Incorporate journaling and poetry All students participate in community service for at least 2 hours (not including prep and reflection)
