5 Punchline  Look back at example 1. Find f(2)  Look at example 2. Find f(1)  To evaluate limits we can simply substitute as long as the function exists at the point in question!

6 Evaluating Limits  There are three possible outcomes when we evaluate limits  1: a number: that is the limit  2: #/0: the limit does not exist (DNE)  3: 0/0: this is the indeterminate form  This means you have to mess with it.
